New Construction Installation of Louvre Window: Steps 1, 2 & 3:
Step 1: Screw Louvre Window Hardware channels to the window jambs. Be sure that channels are installed plumb and square. The outside edge should be al least 1 1/4" from the outside screen stops to allow clearance if a window screen is to be used.
Step 2: Cut the top and bottom glass stops exactly 1 1/4" less than the window opening width and screw in place between louvre jambs. The bottom stop may be shimmed leval on sloping sills by placing a wood bead or molding under the outside edge.
Step 3: Insert glass slats in the clips from the inside and slide gently into place. Length of glass slats should be exactly 1 1/2" less than the window opening width before the Louvre WIndow Hardware was installed.
MULLIONS:
If the opening is wider than 42", two or more units must be used. In lieu of a wood mullion divider, two jambs may be mulled together by screwing 1"x1" mullion anchor block to the head and sill. Left-Hand and Right-Hand jamb channels are then bolted together over the anchor blocks to frm a sturdy mullion.
